This little yellow key really comes in handy when your trying to back your trailer up a hill or maneuvering your trailer into or out of a parking spot. With this type of surge brake, you may have electrical or other problems causing the brakes to not release when you try to back up and when you try to use that frustrating factory lock out  lever that comes on the trailer it just keeps resetting  soon as you try and move just putting your vehicle in gear is enough to reset this lever
