– It is a good idea to start slowly, with an initial agree roughly around 45 degrees. The idea is to make an initial mark for the drill bit.
– Once you have made a slot – mark for your drill bit, you can go vertical slowly.  angle. Go vertical after you make an initial mark.
– Just let the tool work it self – take your time.
– Using water as a coolant is a good idea. You can use running water or you can make a small water pool around the hold with some plumbers putty or clay.
